There are 2 routes to engage with us on a project

  • Route 1 - I do not have a fully dimensioned drawing that includes all design detailing or know exactly what I want >

  • Complete our letter of engagement>

Please complete our letter of engagement and book an initial consultation with us.

Download our letter of engagement form here.

  • Allow the us to work in collaboration with you, develop creative solutions and build your project

After an initial consultation to understand your needs we will begin a process of information gathering such as site visits, concept drawings, prototyping and sampling. Once we have established a project outline that you are happy with we will commence fabrication. You will be kept updated throughout the build and have as much opportunity as you require to have creative input and make amendments.

  • Route 2 - I have a fully dimensioned drawing that includes all design detailing, outline budget and know exactly what I want >

  • Send though full project spec >

Please email through full project detail to david@davidcfrazier.com including dimensioned drawings, surface finish, outline budget and any supporting images required. Then book a project consultation. After our initial consultation if you still wish to proceed you will be invoiced and asked to pay a non refundable retainer of $800. This covers the costs of our estimate and is deducted from the final payment on your project price if you proceed to fabrication.

  • Estimate, drawing pack, and contract for approval

Once your retainer has been cleared and we have full project detail. We will produce an estimate pack for your approval. This will include a fabrication drawing detailing our full understanding of your requirements, an estimate, a contract detailing exactly what is included in our estimate plus the production lead time from point of commencement. If you are happy to sign and proceed we will then schedule in a production slot for your project for production.

NB amendments to this quote package prior to contract being signed will be charged in advance at $70 per hour.

What is your minimum job value
Route 1 - Pay as you go. Route 2 - $5,000

Can you beat the price of this store bought item
Due to the economies of scale it is unlikely that our pricing would come close to any mass manufactured items. If budget is your primary concern bespoke fabrication is probably not the best choice for you.

Can you provide solutions spanning across a number of disciplines in addition to steel fabrication
Yes, our primary focus and specialty is steel fabrication, however we are also experienced at combining numerous materials and processes to find bespoke solutions for our clients.

My job may require engineering signoff how does this work.
We can provide you with a set of drawings that your engineer can stamp or make comment on prior to fabrication. In addition where engineering signoff is required we recommend that your engineer or a qualified 3rd party signs of on the completed work once installed. This is to ensure good practice and form a credible chain of due diligence on works carried out.

I would like a price but do not have a fabrication drawing or fully formed idea of what I want, can you help me.
We do not provide prices for jobs that are not fully quantifiable. If you would like us to work with you to produce a drawing and detailed project outline please sign our letter of engagement and proceed with route 1 clearly stating this as your goal.

If I proceed with route 2 and the project requires unexpected amendments mid project what is the protocol.
In this instance we would halt production on the project while an updated drawing, price and production lead time is produced for approval by you. Once this has been approved in writing and our amended invoice has been payed, a new production slot would be scheduled for the project to resume. Any costs incurred whilst repricing would be added to the updated price.

If I proceed with route 1 how do I manage my timeframe and budgeting
As there is no fixed outcome with this route we are unable to provide estimates or guarantee timeframes. What we can do is guide you on the potential impact of your choices. For example in the price differences of your material selections or how certain aesthetic choices may have significant impacts on production time. Ultimately our goal is for you to be happy and make choices that work well for you.

What is your standard billing schedule for Route 2 projects
$800 retainer in advance of estimate pack, 75% project commencement fee, 25% project completion fee (from which your $800 retainer is deducted). Please note for larger projects payments may be split into additional instalments.
